We do not formally assess pupils when joining our Reception year. However, we do emphasise to parents that children with significant learning difficulties are not well suited to an academic school and make recommendations accordingly. When pupils seek to join Years 1 to 8 they are assessed in English, Mathematics and Reasoning.

Right from Reception pupils have subject specialists in French, ICT, Music and PE. By Year 4 all pupils move from subject room to subject room for their lessons.

We expect excellent behaviour from our pupils. Our motto is “Calm, Careful, Courteous, Considerate” and we emphasise to pupils that every act of unkindness has a detrimental effect upon the school community. We take any instances of bullying very seriously and have a strong pastoral system in place involving Class teachers, Heads of House and Tutors.

We have a wide range of after-school activities either run by TPS staff or outside agencies such as judo or gymnastic groups.
